Genius Hub and plug the power supply into a wall socket (not an extension lead). Try and ensure that the Genius Hub is in an open space and not hidden away behind many heavy objects. The low power wireless communication to the other devices is easily stopped by thick walls, large metal objects, and water.
For combination boilers. In many cases you can swap the boiler programmer with the Genius Hub Boiler Controller (Single). You need to ensure that terminals L, N, 2 & 4 on the Genius Hub boiler controller are wired correctly. Boiler programmers often use a standard back-plate. In this case you...

For large properties with more smart plugs, they will need to be plugged into wall sockets in a central location. Ideally one smart plug will be positioned in the same room as the Genius Hub, and one smart plug put one on each floor directly above or below the Genius Hub.

To login, locate the blue ID on the bottom of the Genius Hub. This needs to be included into the format below: Username format: (remember to include the ‘ ’ AND ‘ ’ ) B8:27:EB: : : So the username for the system above would be:...
6. Adding new zones to the house (on the app) If the customer does not have any radiator valves or room sensors then skip sections 6 - 8 and go straight to section 9. Note: the creating of the rooms on the app may have already been done before the system was shipped.
7. Adding the devices to the individual zones Note: the putting of the devices into the rooms on the app may have already been done before the system was shipped. All of the devices now need to be put into the rooms in the app. On the home screen, Choose the zone that Tap ‘Add Device’...
Radiator valve details The Radiator Valves are electronic and communicate wirelessly with the Genius Hub telling the system what temperature the room has been set to, and if the rooms requires the boiler to be on. The Radiator valves require 2 x AA batteries (supplied).
Page 21
Sometimes when you press a button on the valve it can take 30 seconds for the screen to react. This is normal as the valve may be communicating with the Genius Hub at the time. Room sensor details Fix the sensor temporarily to the wall using the thick black sticky pad, for the first two weeks.
9. Setting up a house with no radiator valves or room sensors By default the app includes a zone named ‘Whole House’. If the customer is not planning on using any radiator valves or room sensors, then you will need to create one zone, generally called the name of the house.
Manual test To test the valves are communicating with the Genius Hub first set all of the rooms to Override at 28º for 60 minutes. • Check that the boiler controller comes on (the red LED turns to green and the boiler fires as normal).
Page 24
• To make sure the radiator valves have received the signal from the Genius Hub any of the three buttons can be pressed to light up the screen. Each valve should read the same as the temperature that was selected for the Override, i.e.

Cannot communicate with the battery-powered devices. • If a device does not communicate with the Hub then a smart plug will need to be put in between the problem device and the Hub. Try to think about what might be stopping the signal and remember that it travels in straight lines between the device and the Hub.
