be a leak in the system,the gaswill settle near the ground.
Basements,crawl spaces, s kirted areas under mobile homes
(evenwhenventilated), c losets and areasbelowground levelwill
serve as pockets for the accumulation of this gas. Before
attemptingto lightor relight the water heater'spilot or turning
on a nearby electrical l ightswitch,be absolutely surethere isno
accumulated gasinthe area. Search for odor ofgasbysniffing at
groundlevelin the vicinity of the appliance. I f odor isdetected,
followstepsindicated at "For YourSafety"on the coverpageof
thismanualthen leavethe premises.
Lighting and operating instructions are located on front of the
water heater, above or to one side of the gas control valve.
