For voltage and current tolerance information, please refer to the TTL information for any standard 74LS00. With the supplied software driver, the ports on the Fastcom: 232/4-LPCI-335 will be seen as standard COM ports and can utilize all the same functions as a standard serial device.

4. Select an open PCI slot in your PC. 5. After removing the blank bracket from your PC, install the Fastcom: 232/4-LPCI-335 in the PC by pressing it firmly into the slot. Install the bracket screw to hold it firmly in place.
TESTING THE INSTALLATION To fully test the installation of your Fastcom: 232/4-LPCI-335, you will need to build a "loop back plug". Materials needed are a DB25 female receptacle, solder cup style, and two short pieces of 20 or 24 AWG stranded wire.

Tx Write Size is the number of bytes that get written to the Tx FIFO when the low water mark is reached. Raising or lowering this value can help to reduce the number of interrupts generated by the Fastcom port during transmits.
FASTCOM: 232/4-LPCI-335 ADAPTER CABLE We provide access to the four channels of the FASTCOM: 232/4-LPCI-335 through a shielded DB44 connector and an adapter cable (supplied with the board). The adapter cable consists of a DB44 male plug fanning out to four standard DB25 male plugs.
DB25 Pin Description The FASTCOM: 232/4-LPCI-335 features four RS-232 channels, which are accessed through four DB25 connectors on the cable assembly. The following is a pin description of the DB25 connectors: PIN NO. SIGNAL NAME DIRECTION No Connect TRANSMIT DATA (TxD)
Refer to the AsyncPCI335\examples directory on the Fastcom CD or in the downloaded zip file for some example C programs that demonstrate how to use the Fastcom specific serial settings as well as give a general sense of how to use the Win32 API.

This warranty is available only to the original purchaser and only covers defects in our workmanship. Any FASTCOM board that is returned to Commtech will, at the option of Commtech, be repaired or replaced at no charge -- except for circumstances excluded by this warranty.
