In/Out Detect always causes the In-range icon to appear.

With the transceiver power OFF,
press and hold the UP key, then
press the POWER switch.
Press the UP or DOWN key to
select "Sq" (Menu No. 9).
Press the MODE key to switch the
Squelch ON or OFF.
• Selecting OFF causes the speaker
to be unmuted.
Press the PTT switch to exit Menu
mode.
• If you switch the Squelch OFF in
step 3, the busy icon appears.
