- Page 4 Important notice for verified weighing instruments Weghng Instruments verfed at the place of manufacture bear one of the precedng mark on the packng label and the green ‘M’ (metrology) stcker on the descrptve plate. They may be put nto servce mmedately. Weghng Instruments to be verfed n two stages have no green ‘M’ (metrology) on the descrptve plate and bear one of the precedng dentfcaton mark on the packng label. The second stage of the ntal verfcaton must be carred out by the approved servce organzaton of the authorzed representatve wthn the EC or by the natonal weght & measures (W+M) authortes. The frst stage of the ntal verfcaton has been carred out at the manufacturers work. It comprses all tests accordng to the adopted European standard EN 45501:1992, paragraph 8.2.2. If natonal regulatons lmt the valdty perod of the verfcaton, the user of the weghng nstrument must strctly observe the re-verfcaton perod and nform the respectve W+M authortes. Please read the manual completely before nstallaton and operaton. Product Description The BW Seres Compact Bench Scale s an economcal portonng, packng and general weghng scale desgned to provde fast and accurate weghng performance n washdown envronments. Wth an nternal sealed rechargeable lead-acd battery, IP65 housng and hgh-speed dsplay update, the BW Seres Compact Bench Scale offers portablty, durablty and productvty n one practcal desgn. BW SERIES COMPACT BENCH SCALE EN-3 INSTALLATION Unpacking Unpack and verfy that the followng components have been ncluded: • BW Scale Unt • Weghng Pan • AC-DC Adapter • Instructon Manual Save the packagng materal. Ths packagng ensures the deal protecton for the storage or transport of the product. Transport Protection BEFORE USING THE SCALE: Remove the 3 shppng protecton screws on the spder sub-platform, then remove the 3 plastc column nserts under the spder. Re-nstall the protectve components f shppng the scale to ensure proper transport protecton. Selecting the Location Operate the scale on a frm, level surface. Avod locatons wth rapd temperature changes, excessve ar currents, vbratons, electromagnetc felds, heat or drect sunlght. Leveling the Scale Adjust the levelng feet* untl the bubble s centered n the crcle of the level ndcator (located on the front panel). Ensure that the scale s level each tme ts locaton s changed. * IMPORTANT: To allow proper ar flow and mnmze condensaton nsde the scale, unscrew the 2 rear levelng feet slghtly, then level the scale accordngly for normal operaton. (only decmal ponts are dsplayed) after 2 mnutes of nactvty, or auto- matcally turn off after 15 mnutes of nactvty (Secton 5.2). • Chargng the scale must be performed n a dry envronment. • Plug the rubber access cap to the adapter receptacle to ensure the scale s protected when operated n a wet envronment. • If the scale s not used wthn 3 months, recharge and dscharge the bat- tery fully 3 tmes to maxmze the battery condton. • Dspose of the lead-acd battery accordng to local laws and regulatons. CAUTION BATTERY IS TO BE REPLACED ONLY BY AN AUTHORIZED OHAUS SERVICE DEALER. RISK OF EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR IF REPLACED WITH THE WRONG TYPE OR CONNECTED IMPROPERLY. Initial Calibration When the scale s operated for the frst tme, a Span Calbraton s recommended to ensure accurate weghng results. Before performng the calbraton, be sure to have the approprate calbraton weghts. Refer to Secton 6 for Span Calbraton procedures. -

EN-6 BW SERIES COMPACT BENCH SCALE OPERATIONS Turning the Unit On and Off Wth the scale off, press ON/OFF to turn on. Make sure the weghng pan s empty before turnng the scale on. Allow 15-30 mnutes for the scale to warm up before use. Wth the scale on, long-press ON/OFF to turn off. Manual Tare Place a contaner on the weghng pan, then press TARE. The dsplay wll show a net value of “0” as the Tare weght s regstered. Remove the contaner, and the resultng negatve value dsplayed wll be equvalent to the Tare weght. To clear the Tare value, press TARE wth the pan empty. Zero Operation Press ZERO to zero the stable weght dsplay (the weght must be wthn ±2% of scale capacty). Center of Zero s ndcated by the LED annuncator. Checkweigh Target Setting Compares the weght of an tem aganst a pre-set Over-Under range. To actvate Checkweghng Mode, refer to user setup (Secton 5.2). • Press CHECK to ntate enterng Over-Under parameters. • The value of the “OVER” target lmt wll be dsplayed frst, wth the actve dgt flashng (the “OVER” LED annuncator s lt). • Enter the desred “OVER” lmt value by pressng TARE 0 9 to ncrement the actve dgt or CHECK to shft to the next dgt. -

BW SERIES COMPACT BENCH SCALE EN-7 • The LED ndcaton s complemented by an audble alert feature (Secton 5.2). • Over-Under values are retaned when the unt s turned off. • Over-Under values are not retaned when the weghng unt or resoluton setup are changed. 5. SCALE SETTINGS Accessing the User Setup Mode Wth the scale off, press ON/OFF and ZERO smultaneously. Once the scale turns on, release ON/OFF whle contnuously pressng ZERO untl “SETUP” s dsplayed. To navgate n the User Setup Mode: • Press ON/OFF-Yes to accept the dsplayed settng • Press TARE-N`o to toggle through avalable settngs • Press ZERO-Exit to end setup and proceed to “Save” • Press CHECK-Back to revert to the prevous parameter User Setup Parameters Parameters Description Settings Scale automatcally turns off after 15 ON - enables ths functon. mnutes of nactvty. EN-8 BW SERIES COMPACT BENCH SCALE 6. CALIBRATION AND SEALING Calibration For best results, calbrate the scale at regular ntervals. Temperature changes, geographc gravty varatons, alttude changes and abuse are few reasons why a scale may need recalbraton. Note: The followng procedure requres the use of hand tools and calbraton weghts. If unable to perform the calbraton, contact an authorzed Ohaus servce organzaton. 1. Remove the battery cover to access the two calbraton pns located n a slot at the bottom of the scale, then short the calbraton pns (a small slotted screwdrver may be used). Calbraton Swtch Note: When accessng the bottom of the scale, avod placng the scale upsde down on the pan or sub-platform. Place the scale on ts sde. 2. “SEtUP” then the frst parameter “CtY” s dsplayed. 3. Press ON/OFF-Yes successvely to move through the succeedng parameters: “dEF NO” “S1”, “S2”, “S3”, “S4”, “S5”, “S6”, “dSP”, “S8”, “S9”, “S10”, “S11”, “S12”, “bAt”, “GEO”. Note: Do not change the settngs of these parameters. These are servce setup parameters ntended for authorzed servcng use only. 4. After “GEO”, “CAL NO” s dsplayed. Press TARE-No to swtch the settng to “CAL YES”. 5. “CAL YES” s dsplayed. Press ON/OFF-Yes to enter calbraton sequence. - Page 17 BW SERIES COMPACT BENCH SCALE EN-9 6. “kg” s dsplayed. Ths s the Calbraton Weght Unt. Press ON/OFF-Yes to accept and move on to the next parameter. 7. “xxxx” s dsplayed. Ths s the Full Scale Capacty of the scale, where: “1500” = 1.5kg, “3000” = 3kg, “6000” = 6kg, “15000” = 15kg. Make sure the dsplayed value matches the scale model capacty then press ON/ OFF-Yes to accept and move on to the next parameter. 8. “- - - - - -” s dsplayed. Make sure the pan s empty and stable at ths tme then press ON/OFF-Yes. The dsplay wll count down from 5 to 1 as the scale zero s regstered. 9. “xxxx” s dsplayed. Ths s the Calbraton Pont correspondng to 2/3 of the Full Scale Capacty value. Place the ndcated calbraton weght on the center of the pan. Wth the scale stable, press ON/OFF-Yes. The dsplay wll count down from 5 to 1 as the scale regsters the calbraton weght. 10. “xxxx” s dsplayed. Ths s the Calbraton Pont correspondng to the Full Scale Capacty value. Place the ndcated calbraton weght on the center of the pan. Wth the scale stable, press ON/OFF-Yes. The dsplay wll count down from 5 to 1 as the scale regsters the calbraton weght. 11. “SAVE” s dsplayed when calbraton was regstered. Remove the calbraton weght, then press ON/OFF-Yes. The scale wll dsplay a self- test then return to normal weghng mode. Note: At any tme durng the calbraton process, press CHECK-Back to revert to the prevous parameter, or long-press ON/OFF to turn off the scale and abort the process wthout savng any changes.

EN-10 BW SERIES COMPACT BENCH SCALE Type Approval Sealing After the scale has been found to comply wth local regulatons by relevant approvng authortes, the scale may be sealed n the followng manner: Lead and Wire Seal. Secure sealng plate wth through-hole screws. Run the wre seal nto the through- holes then press the lead seal n place. Through-hole Screws Lead Seal Sealng Plate Sticker Seal. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Comply wth safety precautons when cleanng and mantanng the scale • Turn off and dsconnect the scale from the power supply durng cleanng. • DO NOT open the scale; no user reparable components nsde. Servce should be performed by authorzed personnel only. • DO NOT place the scale upsde down. If accessng the bottom, place the scale on ts sde. • DO NOT carry the scale by the pan or sub-platform. Use the handholds on the sdes of the scale housng. • DO NOT allow lquds to enter the scale. • DO NOT use hgh pressure when cleanng the scale. • Inspect the scale regularly. Ensure that the housng, pan and sub-platform are clean and free from foregn materal. • Wpe the exteror components of the scale usng a soft cloth dampened wth water and a mld detergent (DO NOT use acds, alkals, strong solvents or abrasve cleanng agents). -
