Graphics don't print correctly
Make sure that your application software is set for the printer
emulation you are using. For example, if you are using the LJ4
emulation, be sure that your graphics software is set for a
LaserJet 4 printer.
Graphics require large amounts of memory, so you may need to
increase your printer's memory. See "Memory Modules" on page
4-55 for information on adding memory modules.
SelecType does not function as expected
Settings made in the printer driver override SelecType settings.
Use your printer driver to make settings whenever possible. See
"When to use SelecType" on page 3-9 for more information.
Your settings may have been changed by your application
software. Perform a factory reset (initialize) with the SelecType
Init function in the SelecType Setup Menu. For more
information, see "Setup Menu" on page 3-24.
You may not have reset the printer after making settings. Press
the ALT and Continue buttons at the same time to reset the printer
and activate the new settings.

Solving print quality problems

If one of the following problems has occurred in your printout,
try the solutions listed for the problem.
Dark or dirty background
Darken the Density setting in the Expanded Settings dialog box
accessed through the Optional Settings tab of the printer driver.
You can also change this setting from the printer's control panel
using SelecType. For details, see "Config Menu" on page 3-20.
