Your individual temperament and your activities may result in slight irregularities. If you were to observe a discrepancy in the running of your watch, we advise you to entrust it to an authorised Jaeger-LeCoultre retailers who will perform the necessary adjustments. Watches with mechanical movements must not be used while practicing sports which may involve impacts or abrupt actions, such as golf or tennis for example.
Furthermore, it is vital to have the water-resistance of your watch checked by an authorised Jaeger-LeCoultre retailer at least once every two years, and at any event before any period during which it is liable to undergo prolonged and/or regular immersions.
The criteria of the “1000 Hours Control” programme considerably exceed the standards of offi cial timing tests, which deal only with part of the movement. Jaeger-LeCoultre tests not only the movement prior to its being cased up in the watch, but also the watch as a whole.
Note The water-resistance function of the compression key is separate from the operation of the crown itself. Even in “closed” position, the key does not lock the crown. It is therefore possible, in practice, to handle the crown when the key is in the compressed seal position.

1 2 3 Time setting Crown A Turn the compression key to the “open” position in the direction of the arrow. Then pull crown A out to position 3. The movement is thus locked (“stop seconds” function). To enable precise time setting in seconds, stop the seconds hand at 60. Move the hands forward clockwise up to the desired time and, on the hour signal, push the crown back to position 1.
Note: Date correction should not be performed between 10:30 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. During this period the automatic date-change mechanism is already in action. When the operation is completed, push the crown back to position 1 and turn the compression key to the “closed” position in the direction of the arrows. Chronograph operation The central seconds hand on the Master Compressor Chronograph displays the chronograph seconds to the nearest quarter of a second.

Compressed seal position Position of seal without compression (“closed”) (“open”) Timing - Pressing once on the pushpiece at 2 o’clock activates the chronograph. The central seconds hand turns and the minute and hour totaliser counters are in operation. A second press on the pushpiece at 2 o’clock stops the chrono- graph and enables reading of the time measured.

- Move the two pushpieces into the “open” position by turning the wing-nuts a quarter of a turn upwards. The non-compressed seal position (“open”) is then indicated by an arrow (front view of watch). - Reset the seconds hand by pressing the pushpiece at 4 o’clock to be ready to perform another measurement.

- Move the pushpieces into the compressed seal position (“closed”) by turning the wing-nuts a quarter of a turn downwards, in the direction shown by the arrow.
