CHAPTER 7: Set Up an Internet Connection for Your Tablet PC
Use the Add Favorite dialog box to record the address of web pages you

wish to visit again.
To return to a favorite web site, you tap the Favorites button on the Internet
Explorer toolbar, instead of the one on the menu bar. This opens the Explorer bar
(a pane that appears on the left side of the browser window), containing the contents
of your Favorites list, as you can see in Figure 7-9. Although the Favorites list
shown in Figure 7-9 isn't very large, the value of this feature really shines through
when you've been using the same computer for a long time. On my old desktop
machine, which is a little over a year old now, the Favorites list includes links to
dozens of unrelated web pages, along with nine folders containing dozens more
links related to specific topics. There's no way I would be able to remember and
find my way back to so many web pages.
The Internet Explorer toolbar is the fastest way to take advantage of the
application's capabilities. Here's what the major buttons on the toolbar do:
Search Activates the search companion in the Explorer bar to search
the Internet using MSN Search.
Favorites Opens a list of your favorite web sites in the Explorer bar.
This button is covered in detail in the paragraphs that precede this list.
