How to Do Everything with Your Tablet PC
FIGURE 4-12
Say, for example, you enter this text in the filename field: c?t.doc. When doing
the search, Windows will find any filename that has the first letter c, followed by
any valid character, followed by t.doc. So the search would find files with names
like cat.doc, c1t.doc, cvt.doc, and so on. But the search wouldn't find filenames like
cart.doc because the question mark represents only a single character.
The asterisk represents any number of characters. So if you did a search for
c*t.doc, it would find files with names like cat.doc, c1t.doc, cvt.doc, and so on.
And the search would find filenames like cart.doc because the asterisk can represent
any number of characters. You can use wildcards in any search that includes a
filename field.
