How to Do Everything with Your Tablet PC
The process was the same for my wife's Nikon Coolpix camera. I connected
it to my Tablet PC and, within a minute, I was viewing the photos in the camera's
memory. I didn't need to load software from a CD or anything. Windows recognized
the camera, installed a copy of camera driver software, and integrated the camera
into my computer system as if it had always been there.
It really is that simple—as long as you're working with plug-and-play hardware.
Installing hardware that isn't plug-and-play is a little more work.

Install Non-Plug-and-Play Hardware

While most of the hardware you'll want to connect to your Tablet PC is plug-and-
play-compatible, you may have occasion to use noncompatible hardware, perhaps
your old scanner or printer. In situations like this, I strongly recommend you let the
Add Hardware Wizard help you. First, though, turn off your computer, unplug it
from the wall, and physically connect the hardware to the Tablet PC. Restart your
computer and start the Add Hardware Wizard.
To start the wizard (shown in Figure 5-1), tap Start | Control Panel | Performance
And Maintenance | System | Hardware | Add Hardware Wizard. As with all

non-plug-and-play hardware on your Tablet PC.
