text record
6 To edit the data, see
below.
To capture images (portrait and signature, for example)
or print a badge for the applicant without editing the
data, see Capturing images and printing badges on
page 4-25.
To view the portrait associated with the current record,
choose the Display button. When you are finished
viewing the portrait, choose the OK button or press the
ENTER key to return to the data entry window.
After you have retrieved and displayed an existing text
record as described on page 4-8, use the following steps
to edit the record if necessary:
1 Click the mouse on a data field to be edited or press the
TAB key until the cursor appears in the data field.
If your ID-4000 has more than one window of data, you
can advance to the next window by choosing the Next
Page button in the lower right corner of the window or
by pressing the PAGE DOWN key.
Note: The primary key field (usually named "Employee
Number," "Employee ID," or something similar) cannot
be edited.
2 Edit the data in the field as necessary.
To edit, use the arrow keys to move the cursor within the
field, use the BACKSPACE key to move the cursor left
and delete characters to the left of the cursor, or use the
DELETE key to delete characters to the right of the
cursor. After positioning the cursor and deleting data as
needed, type the new data. (Any new data you type is
inserted at the current cursor location.)
Note: Some fields in your Data Entry window may use
list boxes, radio buttons, check boxes or look-up tables
to make editing faster and more accurate. If you are
un-familiar with these items, see Completing data entry
fields on page 4-11 for more information.
3 Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all data fields are correct.
