Problem
Rear suspension
bottoms too easily
Rides too stiff in
rear
Machine darts from
side to side
Front end pushes
Steering is heavy
Solution (perform only one change at a time)
S Adjust torsion spring preload to achieve proper static sag
(see page 44).
S Increase rear shock compression damping (if equipped with
Walker/Evans shock) (see page 44).
S Increase torsion spring wire diameter to achieve proper static
sag (if equipped with optional Indy Select shock) (see your
dealer).
S Check for binding suspension shafts and grease all pivot
points.
S Decrease torsion spring preload to achieve proper static sag
(see page 44).
S Decrease rear shock compression valving (if equipped with
Walker/Evans shock) (see page 44).
S Check for proper track tension.
S Check ski alignment (see page 103).
S Ensure spindles and all steering components are free turning.
S Ensure skags are straight on skis.
S Check slider/replace if worn (see page 105).
S Install AccuTrac skis (see your dealer).
S Set static sag (see page 44).
S Check for worn skags.
S Check for binding suspension shafts and grease all pivot
points.
S Set static sag (see page 44).
S Install single skag (see your dealer).
S Rotate RRSS to high position (see page 48).
S Check ski alignment (see page 103).
S Check skags and skis for damage.
S Set static sag (see page 44).
