To disable the steering lock on a Magic Mobility Extreme X8:

1. If in drive mode, click on "Mode" to access the feature menu.
2. Scroll left or right until you find the "Steering Lock" option.
3. Pull back until the noise stops.
4. Switch back to drive mode; sometimes, a slight wiggle or clunk noise may occur.
5. Ensure the steering lock is fully disengaged before driving normally.

Additionally, the joystick can be used to disengage the steering lock.

Many aspects of the power chair are customizable including, but not limited to controllers, seats, seat back recline mechanisms, armrests, headrests and leg rests.
