Horn Circuit

Horn does not turn on.
Probable Cause
Faulty horn switch.
Faulty wiring.
Faulty horn.
Faulty LCD.

Work Light Circuit

Work light does not turn on.
Probable Cause

Faulty work light switch.
Brake diode (V6) is shorted.
Faulty work light output circuit.
Work light does not turn off.
Probable Cause
Faulty work light switch.
Faulty work light output circuit.

Glow Plug Circuit

Glow plugs do not get hot.
Probable Cause
Faulty glow plug relay output.
Faulty wiring.
Faulty glow plug relay in PDU.

Test horn switch using LCD display "Switch Test". (See "Switch Test" on page 4-85.)
If the horn switch does not activate during the LCD "Switch Test", bench test the switch.
(See "Rocker Switches Test" on page 4-130.)
Check wiring between horn and LCD display.
Substitute the horn with a known good horn. If system now works, re-install old
component to verify fault returns.
Substitute the LCD with a known good LCD. If system now works, re-install old
component to verify fault returns.
Test work light switch using LCD display "Switch Test". (See "Switch Test" on page 4-85.)
If the work light switch does not activate during the LCD "Switch Test", bench test the
switch. (See "Rocker Switches Test" on page 4-130.)
Test diode and replace if needed.
With the key switch in the run position, place the work light switch in the on position and
check the main control unit (MCU) headlight output LED.
If the LED turns on, work light output circuit is good; replace work light.
If the LED does not turn on, MCU work light output circuit is faulty; substitute the MCU
with a known good MCU.
Test work light switch using LCD display "Switch Test". (See "Switch Test" on page 4-85.)
If the work light switch does not activate during the LCD "Switch Test", bench test the
switch. (See "Rocker Switches Test" on page 4-130.)
Disconnect MCU connector J3 and place the work light switch in the off position. With the
key switch in the run position, check the work light.
If the work light is on, work light wire 64 Brn/Wht is shorted to ground; check wire.
If the work light is off, MCU work light output is internally shorted; substitute the MCU
with a known good MCU.
Turn the key switch to the run position; check the main control unit (MCU) glow plug relay
output LED (on for 1-6 seconds). If the LED does not come on, substitute the MCU
with a known good MCU.
Check wiring between the glow plug terminal strip and PDU.
Substitute the PDU with a known good PDU. If system now works, re-install old
component to verify fault returns.
