:ENGINE TOLERANCES MEASUREMENT
CYLINDER OUT OF ROUND
Maximum: 0.05 mm ('002")
Measuring 16 mm
(5/8")
from top of cylinder with a cyl-
inder gauge, check if the cylinder out of round is more
than 0.05 mm (,002"). If larger, cylinder should be re-
bored and honed or should be replaced.
CYLINDER TAPER
Maximum: 0.08 mm (.003")
Compare cylinder diameter 16 mm
(5/8")
from top of
cylinder with down to just below the intake port.
On rotary valve engines, measure just below auxiliary
transfer port, facing exhaust port. If the difference ex-
ceeds 0.08 mm (,003") the cylinder should be rebored
and honed or should be replaced.
