    Hardware Installation Procedure 1.After verifying that the package is complete, proceed to unpack the package. 2.Hardware Installation A.Insert the supplied plastic key into the lock hole on the removable tray and carefully remove the tray as shown in Figure 1. (Figure 1) B.Remove the holder from the removable tray with a screwdriver (be careful not to damage the nuts) as shown in Figure 2.
  • Page 8 1. Please use a motherboard with SATA II (3.0 GHz) interface to enhance compatibility and transmission efficiency. 2. PCI-X SATA II and PCI-E SATA II are available on the STARDOM web site for customers who do not have the SATA II interface on their motherboards or are in need of high-speed data transmission.
  • Page 9 B.RAID CARD Mode a.Install the RAID CARD into the PCI slot on the PC. Connect one end of the eSATA II bracket-to-SATA cable to the SATA interface on the RAID CARD and connect the other end of the eSATA II bracket-to-SATA cable to the eSATA port on the ST5610. Make sure the screws on the bracket are fastened and the eSATA connector is secured as shown in Figure 6.

    Hard Drive Format Procedure 1. The format procedure is applicable to the following operating systems: A. Windows 2000/2003/XP B. Mac OS 10.3.5 or higher C. Linux 2.6.13 or later 2. In the external case mode (RAID level, Note 1), the installed hard drive can be detected by the Device Manager of Computer Management for Windows as shown in Figure 1.
