Initial Management Access

The first time that you access your system, you
connect through the Console port using a terminal.
These are the default settings for this port: 9600
baud, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, No parity.
When you first access the Administration Console
using the Console port, you see this prompt:
Select access level (read, write, administer):
At the prompt, enter:

At the password prompt, press Return.

The Administration Console top-level menu appears:

Use this menu to change the Console port baud
setting for the terminal or to configure your system
for another management access mechanism.

Setting the Console Port Baud

To change the baud setting of the Console port:
From the top level of the Administration Console, at

At the command prompt, if the default value shown

At the prompt, enter a baud setting of 9600 for the

Console port. The system supports these baud
settings: 19200, 9600, 4800, 2400, and 1200.
The system displays this message:
Enter new value (1200-19200) [1200]: 9600
Error setting baud rate to 9600.
Baud rate will change upon next connection.
