Other audio and video connections
Connecting to a digital audio source
This unit can decode the surround signals received through the set top box, digital broadcasting or satellite
broadcasts. Refer to your equipment's operating instructions for details. Only Dolby Digital and PCM can be played
with this connection.

Connecting to a 5.1 channel amplifier
To enjoy 5.1 channel surround sound DVD-Video, connect an amplifier with a built-in Dolby Digital or DTS decoder
using an optical digital audio cable.

≥ Using the connections shown above, you can output CD or DVD audio only.
≥ Before purchasing an optical digital audio cable, check the terminal shape of the equipment to be connected.
≥ You cannot use DTS Digital Surround decoders not suited to DVD.
≥ Even if using this connection method, output will be in only 2 channels when playing DVD-Audio.
