2.5 COMMUNICATION DEVICES
The uninterrupted power supply units of the UPS ARCHIMOD
2 RS232 serial ports, 1 relay interface, 1 logic level output on a male DB15 connector and an
SNMP slot. All user interfaces are SELV insulated and if there are several control boards they
provide the same redundant information.
2.5.1 RS232 serial ports
The first of the 2 RS232 serial ports that are on each of the UPS control boards is called "main-
tenance interface"; it is located in the middle of the front control panel between the display and
keypad.
It is dedicated exclusively to diagnositic functions and machine firmware upgrades.
The second, called "user interface" is at the back of the UPS. Thanks to this port a whole set
of data on UPS operation can be accessed by means of a computer or network board besides
being able to control the unmanned switching off of the operating system.
The second, called 'user interface', is at the top at the back of the UPS. Thanks to this port that,
with either a computer or specific network card, it is possible to access UPS operating data and
to control the unattended turning off of the operating system.
2.5.2 Relay interface
The relay interface contacts are programmed by default as Normally Open (NO) but can be
configured as Normally Closed (NC) via the UPS control panel and display.
