or unlock when the key fob is pressed once.

Starting and Stopping Engine

Whenever the remote control key is not in the ignition lock, the steering column is locked.

Switching the ignition on
Insert the key into ignition position to switch
the ignition on. (Figure 1.3)
Starting the engine
1. Shift the selector lever to P (Park).
2. Depress the brake pedal.
3. Push the key to start engine, and release as
soon as the engine start. While starting,
high-power electrical systems are tempora-
rily switched off.
Stopping the engine
1. Let the vehicle come to complete stop.
2. Shift the automatic transmission to P
( Park).
3. Push the key to stop engine and release.
( Note: The key can be removed only with the selector
lever in P (Park) position.)

Menu options include:
 "All doors" unlock all doors.
 "Single door" unlock only the driver's
door.
 "Vehicle" side unlock the doors on the
driver's side of the vehicle.
6. Press the up or down arrows to select an
option.
7. Press "OK" to activate or deactivate the
selected option.
WARNING
 Never stop the engine before the vehicle
has come to complete stop. You can lose
control of the vehicle, crash and be se-
riously injured.
 The airbags will not work when the igni-
tion is switched off.
 The power steering system does not work
when the engine is not running and you
will need more force to steer the vehicle.
 When the key is removed from the igni-
tion switch, the steering will lock and you
will not be able to steer the vehicle.
CAUTION
 If the vehicle has been driven hard for a
long time, the engine could overheat
when it is stopped.
 To reduce the risk of engine damage, let
the engine idle for 2 minutes before you
switch off ignition.
