5.4 How to create your own MP3 files?
To build up your music library, you can use your own Audio CD. For this, you must convert it in MP3 files
in order for them to be transferred in the player. Many softwares are available to create, extract and
encode sound.
The most complete and most professional is "Sound Forge from SONY/Sonic Foundry". This software
has all the sound editing tools you could need.
Free CDex software
You can also use the free "CD ex"
software to very simply extract and
encode Audio CDs. Cdex allows to
record audio tracks from Compact-Discs
and save them to MP3 or WAV format. It
can extract parts of tracks or convert
WAV files in MP3 files. It also has the
basic functions to play CD and supports
the CDDB protocol (identifying your CD's
tracks via Internet).
