Packing the GERBER EDGE FX
The GERBER EDGE FX printer is shipped from the factory in reusable packaging materials. Use
these original packaging materials when you need to ship the GERBER EDGE FX.
CAUTION: Failure to repackage the printer with the specified packaging materials
may result in damage to the unit during shipping. Always repack the printer as
described in this document. Gerber is not liable for shipping damage due to
improperly packed units. If you do not have the proper packaging materials, call
Gerber Service at 800-828-5406.
Packing the GERBER EDGE FX printer
Gather the original box and packaging materials. Remove any loaded material and the foil
cartridge from the printer.
WARNING: The GERBER EDGE FX weighs 84 pounds/38 kg and requires two
people to lift it.
To repack the GERBER EDGE FX printer
1 Turn off the power and unplug the GERBER EDGE FX from the power source.
2 Disconnect the network cable, and power cable from the back of the printer. Store the
network cable and power cable in the accessories box.
3 Open the cover of the printer and reinstall the three foam blocks that protect the print
head during shipment. Press the blocks firmly (compressing the foam slightly) to
position them correctly as shown in the following photos.
