    Being defined as having no ingress of water when immersed at 1 metre for 30 minutes. The UH078SX-NB will only meet this rating if fully assembled and all rubber seals and bungs are well maintained and correctly fitted. This means that the speaker microphone bung is inserted, and the battery pack and antenna are attached and securely fastened.

    The UH078SX-NB radio meets waterproof (JIS7) specifications only when the battery, the antenna and speaker MIC jack cap are correctly installed. The UH078SX-NB will retain its JIS7 rating when the accessory Speaker MIC is connected correctly but the Speaker MIC itself is not splash or waterproof.

Transmitting a Call Tone Your UH078SX-NB is equipped with 5 selectable call tones that will be CALL transmitted when is pressed. Current regulations require calling tones to be restricted to one transmission per minute.

    The squelch is used to eliminate any annoying background noise when there are no signals present. Make sure to first select a channel not in use before setting the squelch in your UH078SX-NB UHF-CB radio.     Operation To Transmit and Receive The UH078SX-NB uses the UHF-CB Channels. For your reference a list of the available channels and corresponding frequencies is printed on p.28-p.29. UHF-CB Channels 22 and 23 are for telemetry and telecommand applications. Transmit is inhibited on these channels.

    Drop-out Delay While scanning, the UH078SX-NB stops at a busy channel and receives a signal. When the received signal is over, the unit will wait for 3 seconds for the return of the signal, otherwise, the radio resumes scanning.

    Operation 60 Receive Channels The UH078SX-NB also has 60 receive only channels (CH81 - CH140) which can be programmed with frequencies ranging from 450-512MHz (in 12.5kHz steps). If you know the frequency you may store it manually. Manual Programming MENU Turn power off.
