    Introduction The StarTech.com 4-Port ExpressCard to RS232 Serial Adapter Card adds four DB9 RS232 serial ports to a laptop or ExpressCard enabled desktop computer system. Based on a single-chip architecture (as opposed to cards that use a “bridge chip”), thus providing native PCI Express communication for greater performance and reliability, as well as reduced power consumption and a CPU load reduction of up to 48%.

    Installation Hardware Installation The ExpressCard adapter will simply slide into the ExpressCard slot on any compatible system. Push the card all the way in, until it ‘clicks’ and locks into place. To eject the card, simply push the card further into the slot until it clicks, and then release and it will then be automatically ejected from the slot.
