Locking and protecting your phone

MEID number

Every phone has a unique MEID (Mobile Equipment Identity) number. You should keep a
copy of this number. If your phone is stolen, your network provider can use your MEID
number to stop the phone from accessing the network in your home network country.
To view your MEID number
Remove the battery to view your MEID number.
To view your MEID number from your phone settings menu

From your Home screen, tap

Find and tap Settings > About phone > Status.
Scroll to MEID to view the MEID number.

Screen unlock pattern

You can secure data in your phone with a screen unlock pattern that only you know how
to draw. Your phone stores this pattern, and when you start your phone or activate the
screen, you are asked to draw it.
It is very important that you remember your screen unlock pattern. If you forget it, it may not be
possible to restore important data such as contacts and messages. Please refer to your
Sony Ericsson contact center.
To create a screen unlock pattern

From the Home screen, tap

Find and tap Settings > Location & security > Set up screen lock > Pattern.

Follow the instructions in your phone. You are asked to select a security question
that will be used to unlock the phone if you forget your screen unlock pattern.
To unlock the screen using a screen unlock pattern

Activate the screen.

Draw your screen unlock pattern.
If the unlock pattern you draw on the screen is rejected five times in a row, you can select to
either wait 30 seconds and then try again, or to answer the security question you have selected.
To change the screen unlock pattern

From the Home screen, tap
Find and tap Settings > Location & security > Change screen lock.

Follow the instructions in your phone.
To disable the screen unlock pattern

From your Home screen, tap
lock.

Draw the screen unlock pattern.

Tap None.
