Starting your phone

The first time you start your phone, you are prompted to touch the Android logo to begin.
This is a good time to learn more about your phone and decide how you want to use Android
and Google features. You are also prompted to create a Google account or log in to an
existing account.

Accounts and services

Sign in to your online service accounts from your phone and benefit from a range of services.
Combine services and get even more out of them. For example, collect contacts from your
Google™ and Facebook™ accounts and integrate them into your phonebook, so you have
everything in one place.
You can sign up to online services from your phone as well as from a computer. When you
sign up for the first time, an account is created with your user name, password, settings
and personal information. The next time you sign in, you get a personalized view.
Verizon account
With a Verizon account, you can use the Backup Assistant℠ application to synchronize
your phone contacts with a Verizon server and have them safely stored. You can then easily
transfer your contacts to any phone you want.
Google™ account
A Google™ account is key to your Android™ phone. Use Gmail™ to send emails, Google
Talk™ to chat with friends, and Android Market™ to download applications.
Exchange Active Sync account
Synchronize your phone with your corporate Exchange Active Sync account. This way, you
keep your work email, contacts and calendar events with you at all times.
Facebook™ account
Facebook™ connects you with friends, family and colleagues all over the world. Log in now
to share your world with others.
