IMPORTANT! Clean or change the
cartridge fi lter regularly for best
performance.
ALWAYS USE CARTRIDGE FILTER FOR
DRY VACUUMING. If the machine is
used without the cartridge fi lter, the motor
will burn out and the warranty will be voided.
Always keep spare fi lters on-hand.

Installing A Replacement Cartridge Filter

THIS VACUUM CLEANER IS DESIGNED TO USE CRAFTSMAN CARTRIDGE FILTERS.
1. Carefully slide the Craftsman cartridge
fi lter over the fi lter cage and press
down on the outside edge of the fi lter
until the rubber gasket on the bottom of
the fi lter fi ts securely around the base
of the fi lter cage and against the lid.
(Fig. 1)
2. Align the small center hole in the top of
the fi lter over the post on the fi lter cage.
Press fi rmly on top of the fi lter near the
post to allow the fi lter to seat over the
post. (Fig. 2)
3. To further secure fi lter, put on retainer
nut and turn clockwise to tighten until
snug. (Fig. 3)
NOTE: Always retain the original retainer nut. Do not misplace it while removing or replacing
the cartridge fi lter.

WARNING: Always disconnect
the plug from the power outlet
before removing the power head
from the collection tank.

1. Carefully slide the Craftsman cartridge
fi lter over the fi lter cage with the fl at end
of the fi lter towards the power head.
(Fig. 1a)
2. Carefully push fi lter down until it is fully
seated on the power head. (Fig. 2a)
3. To secure fi lter; put on retainer nut and
turn clockwise to tighten until snug. Do
not over tighten. (Fig. 3a)
