Example of Stroke input
Your phone has an association function which is
designed to associate a stroke with a component, a
component with a character, or a character with words
or phrases.
To enter words
In this example, we are going to enter " 信息 ".
1. Enter the first stroke " 丿 ".
Six components and characters starting with " 丿 "
appear in the candidate row, see also "General
instructions for entering Chinese characters" on
page 12. Press

2. Move the cursor to " 亻 ". Press
3. Enter another stroke, " 丶 ".
" 信 " is displayed.
4. Move the cursor to highlight the character you want,

character " 息 " is displayed in the candidate row.

Sequence rules
You must enter a Chinese character stroke by stroke,
in the right order. The rules for the sequence of strokes
and components are:
• Over first then down:
• Left slope first then right slope:
• From top to bottom:
• From left to right:
• From outside to inside:
• Middle first then sides:
• Inside first and then close:
Pinyin input
Pinyin is a phonetic-based Chinese input method.
You enter the character by entering the Latin letters
corresponding to the pronunciation of the
Chinese character.
