2.10.3
This parameter displays your CPU's speed and bus frequency. It also allows you to
specify the CPU frequency multiplier. Selecting this option displays the following screen:
Bus Frequency ............... [xx] MHz
CPU Multiple ................ [x]
Processor Speed ............. xxx MHz
Bus Frequency
The bus frequency refers to the speed by which data is transferred between internal
computer components and the CPU or the main memory of the CPU. A fast bus allows
data to be transferred faster, which allows applications to run faster.
CPU Multiple
This parameter sets the Core/bus ratio of your system. The clock speed of the bus does
not necessarily equal the CPU's (core). This multiplier equals the CPU core frequency
divided by the bus frequency.
Processor Speed
The processor speed is the speed at which a microprocessor executes instructions. Clock
speeds are expressed in megahertz (MHz), with 1 MHz being equal to 1 million cycles per
second. The faster the clock, the more instructions the CPU can execute per second.
