Bump Steer Elimination Chart
The illustrations and the following table detail the position of the outer
toe link end for various caster and roll center settings to eliminate
bump steer. The shims and the hollow balls used to adjust bump steer
are provided with your vehicle.

REAR

The illustrations and the following table detail the position of the outer
toe link end for the rear suspension. Depending on the upper control
arm mounting hole in the bulkhead (roll center) and desired toe-in
effects, the following settings should be used.

Roll Center

Control Arm
There are two holes on the
Mounting Hole on
bulkheads to mount each upper
Front Bulkhead
suspension arm. The roll center
Upper
of the vehicle can be raised by
mounting the upper control arm in
Lower
the lower of the two holes. This will
effectively increase the roll stiffness
of the vehicle (similar to installing swaybars). Adding roll resistance to
Upper
one end of the vehicle will tend to add traction to the opposite end. For
example, increasing roll resistance in the rear by installing the upper
Lower
arms in the lower holes will provide more traction for the front wheels
and potentially more steering.
Upper
From the factory, the front arms are installed in the upper position
Lower
and the rear arms are installed in the lower position. This makes the
truck easier and more forgiving to drive. The other holes should be
Upper
reserved for track tuning. Note: When the front upper suspension
arms are moved to a different hole, the outer toe link ends should
Lower
be repositioned to eliminate bump steer. Refer to the Bump Steer
Elimination chart (left) and look up your suspension combination
(caster angle and roll center position) to find the correct position for
Upper
the front outer toe links. The same is required for the rear control links.
Adjustment is achieved using the shims and hollow balls provided with
the vehicle.
