OPTIONAL BLOWER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

INSTALLING OPTIONAL BLOWER EFB-2.
1. If installed, turn OFF gas supply to fireplace.
2. Remove screen assembly from fireplace (2 screws).
3. If fireplace is installed in mantel, disconnect flexible gas line
from gas supply. Pull mantel forward a few inches in order
to route cord set.
Caution: Do not damage flexible gas line when pulling
mantel forward.
3. If fireplace is installed in a framed enclosure, disconnect
flexible gas line from gas supply. Remove fireplace from
framed enclosure in order to route cord set.
Caution: Do not damage flexible gas line when removing
fireplace from framed enclosure.
4. Disconnect thermostat wires or remote control wires from
burner assembly.
5. Remove base assembly with attached logs from inner casing
(4 screws).
6. You have the option to route the electrical supply wire (cord
set) through the right side or left side of the outer casing.
Install strain relief into the 9/16" hole in either the right side
or left side of the outer casing.
7. Route cord set through outer casing. Continue to route cord
set through 9/16" hole on either right or left side of the outer
casing bottom. If the cord set is routed through the left side
of the outer casing, you must insert approximately two feet
of the cord set into the interior of the outer casing.
8. Attach optional blower assembly to the interior, back of the
outer casing with (5) five #10 x 1/2" screws provided in
optional blower kit.
9. Remove upper louver assembly from the outer casing (4
screws).
10. Attach fan control bracket, with fan control and wire harness,
to the upper, right hand corner on the front of the outer casing
with (1) one #10 x 1/2" screw provided in optional blower kit.
Attention: For proper automatic fan control operation, the
fan control (when installed) must touch the metal surface on
the top of the inner casing.
11. Route fan control wires between the inner casing and outer
casing.
12. Install AUTO/OFF/ON switch into switch bracket.
13. Attach 1/4" push-on terminal from blue wire on fan control
wire harness to the AUTO (top) 1/4" tab on the AUTO/OFF/
ON switch.
14. Attach 1/4" push-on terminal from 10" black wire to the OFF
(middle) 1/4" tab on the AUTO/OFF/ON switch. Attach
socket terminal on the black wire to pin terminal from black
(hot) wire, smooth insulation on cord set.
15. Attach 1/4" push-on terminal from red wire on fan control
wire harness to the ON (bottom) 1/4" tab on the AUTO/OFF/
ON switch. Attach, pin terminal from the white wire to
socket terminal from white motor wire.

EFB-2 for Unvented Gas Fireplace
Model VFH-33M, VFH-33R, VFH-33T
16. Remove and discard (1) one # 10 x 1/2" screw located in right
side of casing bottom. Insert and attach switch bracket into the
right side of casing bottom with (1) one provided Phillips pan-
head screw. (Refer to drawing on Page 22)
17. Attach socket terminal from the black motor wire to the pin
terminal from the black (neutral) wire, ribbed insulation on
cord set.
18. Attach green ground wire from motor and green ground wire
from cord set to the casing botom with (1) one #10 x 1/2"
screw provided in optional blower kit.
19. Replace and attach upper louver assembly onto the outer
casing with (4) screws removed in Step 9.
20. Replace and attach base assembly with logs onto right leg and
left leg with (2) screws removed in Step 5.
21. Reinstall wires that were disconnected in Step 4.
22. Replace fireplace into framed enclosure or position mantel
against wall.
23. Attach flexible gas line to gas supply. All gas connections
must be checked for gas leaks. This should be done with a
soap solution watching for bubbles on all exposed connections,
and if unexposed, a pressure test must be done.
24. Attach screen assembly to fireplace with (2) screws removed
in Step 2.
25. Plug in cord set to electrical outlet.
26. Installation of EFB-2 optional blower is completed.
Attention: On the VFH-33M fireplace, the automatic feature of
the AUTO/OFF/ON switch may not function when the appliance
is operating at minimum input, 15,000 BTUH. The minimum
input of 15,000 BTUH may not provide enough heat at the fan
control to allow for automatic operation of the optional blower.
Whenever you wish to have a quicker response (ON or OFF) from
the optional blower, please use the manual ON/OFF feature on
the AUTO/OFF/ON switch.
