Cleaning the print cartridge nozzles

Load plain paper. See "Loading paper into the paper support" on
page 15.

Click Start
Center.

From the Maintenance tab, click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.

Click Print.
A page prints, forcing ink through the clogged nozzles to clean
them.

Print the document again to verify that the print quality has
improved.
If you are not satisfied with the print quality, continue with "Wiping
the print cartridge nozzles and contacts" on page 33.

Wiping the print cartridge nozzles and contacts

Remove the print cartridge. For more information, see "Removing a
used cartridge" on page 27.

Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with water.

Gently hold the cloth against the nozzles for about three seconds,
and then wipe in the direction shown.
