4.5 Obtaining updated software and databases

Support for automatic compression and cleaning of old log files is
planned for a future release of AltairSync.
Altair runs a special version of XCSoar and updates for both XC-
Soar and AltairSync will primarily be distributed through the Tri-
adis Engineering website at
http://www.triadis.ch
XCSoar updates may be provided through other websites such as
the home site of XCSoar at
http://xcsoar.sourceforge.net
although these versions are not officially approved by Triadis En-
gineering and users may only install them at their own risk.
Data file updates distributed through the XCSoar website are ap-
proved; however it remains the owner's responsibility at all times
to ensure that the files installed on Altair are up to date and accu-
rate.
