To exit extend mode, do the following:
1. Click the adapter icon in the Windows notification area. A pop-up menu opens.
2. Select Off to exit extend mode.
Mirror mode
When the adapter is in mirror mode, it clones your notebook computer screen to the external monitor(s). The
adapter automatically selects the settings (screen resolution, color quality, and refresh rate) for the external
monitor(s), which will enable the best resolution based on your notebook computer.
To enter mirror mode, do the following:
1. Click the adapter icon in the Windows notification area. A pop-up menu opens.
2. Select Mirror to enter mirror mode.
To exit mirror mode, do the following:
1. Click the adapter icon in the Windows notification area. A pop-up menu opens.
2. Select Off to exit mirror mode.
Single-display mode
When the adapter is in single-display mode, it enables you to show your desktop on only one screen.
There are two options when you are using single-display mode:
• Notebook Monitor Off: When you select this option, the display of your notebook computer monitor
turns off and the display of the external monitor turns on.
Note: This option is available when there is only one external monitor connected to the USB 3.0 to
DVI/VGA adapter.
• Off: When you select this option, the display of external monitor(s) turn off and the display of your
notebook computer monitor turns on.
To enter single-display mode, do the following:
1. Click the adapter icon in the Windows notification area. A pop-up menu opens.
2. Select Notebook Monitor Off or Off.
To exit single-display mode, do the following:
1. Click the adapter icon in the Windows notification area. A pop-up menu opens.
2. Select Off to exit single-display mode.

Working with the adapter utility

The utility enables you to configure the display settings of the adapter.
Note: The settings you have configured for the adapter will be retained each time when you connect
the notebook computer to the adapter. This feature enables you to use your notebook computer with
multiple dongles.
Checking for updates
This feature enables you to check whether there is any update for the device driver in the Windows 7,
Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 operating systems.
