– The connection between the video cable and the video output connectors
Note: For the connection of the VGA connector, ensure that the DVI to VGA adapter also is secured by
the screws on both sides of it.
– If the problem persists, disconnect all connections of the USB 3.0 to DVI/VGA Monitor Adapter, and
uninstall the USB 3.0 to DVI/VGA Monitor Adapter device driver. Then, reinstall the USB 3.0 to DVI/VGA
Monitor Adapter and the device driver.
• Problem: You cannot play back videos on your external monitor(s) but can play them back on your
notebook computer monitor.
Solution: Some notebook computers do not support the Certified Output Protection Protocol (COPP),
and you will not be able to play back the protected videos on the external monitors connected to the
USB 3.0 to DVI/VGA Monitor Adapter. The Corel WinDVD 10 program also has limitations on playing
back videos in the Windows XP operating system. To play back videos on the external monitor(s), you
can connect the external monitor(s) to the VGA connector(s) on your notebook computer, and extend
the display to the external monitor(s). For more information about configuring the display settings, see
"Working with the adapter utility" on page 8.
• Problem: You cannot drag an application window to the other monitor(s) in the Windows XP or Windows
Vista operating system.
Solution: In the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system, you cannot drag a maximized window
unless you reduce the window to a smaller size.
To drag a window from one monitor to the other(s), do the following:
1. On the window that you want to drag, click the Restore Down button or double-click the title bar to
make the window exit from its maximized status.
2. Drag the title bar of the window to the monitor that you want the window to be displayed.
• Problem: The images on the external monitor(s) flutter.
Solution: To solve the problem, check the following:
– Ensure that the external monitor(s) are well connected to the video output connectors of the USB 3.0
to DVI/VGA Monitor Adapter.
– Check the display resolution setting of the notebook computer and ensure that the resolution is
supported by the USB 3.0 to DVI/VGA Monitor Adapter.
– Check that you do not select Optimize for Video in the Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating
system. If you select it, you might see double image in full screen mode when you right-click the screen
to open the setting menus.
• Problem: The images on the external monitor(s) are not in correct colors.
Solution: To solve the problem, do the following:
1. Ensure that the external monitor(s) are well connected to the video output connectors of the USB 3.0
to DVI/VGA Monitor Adapter.
2. Check the display resolution setting of the computer and ensure that the resolution is supported
by the USB 3.0 to DVI/VGA Monitor Adapter.
• Problem: Your computer can play back Web flashes. However, when you drag the window to the external
monitor(s) and maximize the playback window, the playback stops.
