Note: For the Group option, if the number of recipients is less than 10, all
members in the group will be added. You will need to delete any
unnecessary members in the list by selecting the trash can icon and

Options before composing a message
From the Home screen, tap

• Delete threads: allows you to delete an message thread. Select
the messages to delete and a green checkmark will appear next
to the message. Tap Delete.
• Brightness setting: lets you adjust screen brightness (drag the slider
or select Automatic brightness).

• Settings: allows you to access Messaging settings. For more
information, refer to "Messaging Settings" on page 55.
Options while composing a message
While composing a message, press

• Add subject: lets you add a subject line to the message.
• Insert smiley: allows you to add emoticons, such as a happy face,
to your message.
• Import text: allows you to copy text from your contacts, calendar,
or from a memo to add to your message. This is a convenient
feature for adding names, phone numbers, events, etc. to your
message. For more information, refer to "Import Additional
Text" on page 53.
• Brightness setting: lets you adjust screen brightness (drag the slider
or select Automatic brightness).
• Discard: allows you to delete the message without saving it to
your Drafts folder.
You can also touch

• Picture: allows you to tap an existing image from your Pictures list
to add it to your message.
• Video: allows you to choose an existing video from the Videos list,
then add it to your message.
