Fitting the passenger airbag
deactivation switch
WARNING
If you need to fit a child restraint on
a seat protected by an operational
airbag in front of it and the vehicle is
not equipped with a passenger airbag
deactivation switch, have one fitted. Ask
your dealer for further information.
Note: The key switch is located in the glove
compartment with an airbag deactivation
lamp in the instrument panel.
If the airbag warning lamp illuminates or
flashes when you are driving, this indicates
a malfunction. Remove the child restraint
and have the system checked immediately.
Disabling the passenger airbag
Note: The passenger airbag ON and OFF
warning lamps will come on briefly when
the ignition is switched on to confirm that
the system is operational.
Occupant protection
Turn the switch to position A.

indicating that the passenger airbag is
disabled. For item location: See At a

Enabling the passenger airbag
seat.
Turn the switch to position B.

airbag is enabled. For item location: See
At a Glance (page 9).
