Tone is the rich, resonant sound quality that emanates from a well-crafted piano.
A fine instrument should be capable of producing exceptional tone through the full range of
musical expression...powerful, delicate, short, long, fast or slow. Whatever the dynamic
requirement, the piano must respond with a clear and expressive sound that reflects the
player's intentions. Superb tone is the first hallmark of every Kawai grand piano.
THE SOUNDBOARD
The soundboard is the very heart of the piano's tone. Its purpose is to transform the vibrations of the piano's
strings into a beautiful, resonant tone. Kawai uses only straight-grained, quarter-sawn solid spruce for all grand piano
soundboards. Each one is tested with state-of-the-art equipment to measure the speed at which sound energy travels
through it. Only those soundboards that exceed our demanding resonance standards are selected for use in Kawai
grand pianos.
LA TABLA ARMONICA
La tabla armónica es el mismísimo corazón de un piano. Su finalidad es transformar las vibraciones de las
cuerdas del piano en un bello tono resonante. Kawai sólo usa veta recta, cortada en cuartos de sólida picea para las
tablas armónicas de todos los pianos de cola. Cada una está probada con equipo de alta tecnología para medir la
velocidad en que la energía de cada sonido viaja a través de él. Sólo aquellas tablas armónicas que exceden nuestra
expectativa de estándar de resonancia son seleccionados para su uso en los pianos de cola Kawai.
LA TAVOLA ARMONICA
La tavola armonica è la base del suono di un pianoforte. Il suo scopo è di amplificare le vibrazioni delle corde. Kawai
usa, per tutte le tavole armoniche, unicamente abete stagionato a venatura diritta. Ogni tavola armonica viene sottoposta
a severi test e solo quelle che superano i criteri standard di risonanza vengono scelte per i pianoforti a coda Kawai.
