    REAR SHIELD ADJUSTMENT The rear shield can be adjusted to control the soil tilth or consistency. The finest tilth is achieved with the shield in the lowest position. That position is recommended for mulching, mixing, and burying weeds, fertilizer, etc. The higher the shield is positioned, the more course the finished results.
