Camera has
experienced a
fatal error

Possible cause
The optional
memory card
that is installed
was half-locked
or was removed
before the
camera finished
writing to the
card.
The camera is
out of range for
the selected
aperture or
shutter speed.
Possibly an
image taken with
another camera
or a corrupt
image file
caused by the
camera not
shutting down
properly.
The camera may
have a firmware
problem.

Solution
Check to see if the tab on
the edge of the memory
card is fully in the
unlocked position.
Always wait until the
Power/Memory light
stops blinking before
removing the card from
the camera.
Select a different aperture
when using the
Priority Av
shooting mode.
The image may still be
okay. Transfer the image
to your computer and try
opening it with the HP
Image Zone software.
Do not remove the
memory card when the
camera is turned on.
Turn the camera off and
then on again. If that does
not fix the problem, try
resetting the camera (see
Resetting the Camera
page 112). If the problem
persists, note the error
code and then call HP
Support (see
Getting
Assistance
on page 144).
