Replacing the middle chassis with bracket

Attention: Turn off the computer and wait 3 to 5 minutes to let it cool down before removing the cover.
Note: It may be helpful to place the computer face-down on a soft flat surface for this procedure. Lenovo
recommends that you use a blanket, towel, or other soft cloth to protect the computer screen from
scratches or other damage.
To replace the middle chassis with bracket
Step 1.
Remove any media (disks, CDs, or memory cards) from the drives, shut down the operating
system, and turn off the computer and all attached devices.
Step 2.
Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets.
Step 3.
Disconnect all cables attached to the computer. This includes power cords, input/output (I/O)
cables, and any other cables that are connected to the computer. Refer to "Left and right view"and
"Rear view" for help with locating the various connectors.
Step 4.
Remove the side Cover. Refer to "Removing the side cover".
Step 5.
Remove the hard disk drive. Refer to the "Removing the hard disk drive".
Step 6.
Remove the top metal shield. Refer to the "Removing the top metal shield".
Step 7.
Remove the middle frame. Refer to the "Removing the middle frame".
Step 8.
Remove the zigBee Card. Refer to the "Removing the zigbee card".
Step 9.
Remove the Wi-fi card. Refer to "Removing the Wi-Fi card".
Step 10. Remove the HDD cable - right angle type. Refer to the "Removing the HDD cable - right angle
type".
Step 11. Remove the bottom metal shield. Refer to the "Removing the bottom metal shield".
Step 12. Remove the HDD cable - straight type. Refer to the "Removing the HDD cable - straight type".
Step 13. Remove the motherboard. Refer to the "Removing the motherboard".
Step 14. Remove the system fan. Refer to the "Removing the system fan".
