Testing the System

Now all you need to do is turn the system on and ensure
everything works properly. Follow the steps below to test the
HDTV-equipped TracVision system.
1. Ensure that the antenna has a clear view of all
three DIRECTV satellites. The antenna requires an
unobstructed view of the sky to receive satellite
TV signals. Trees, buildings, bridges, and other
equipment on the vessel/vehicle can block the
signal.
2. Turn on the receiver(s) and TV(s).
3. Turn on the TracVision antenna and control panel.
If you wired the control panel power to the switchplate
or ADCU, the control panel should power up at the
same time you turn on the antenna.
4. Within a few minutes, a picture should appear on
the TV (please be patient - it may take more than
20 minutes for the receiver to download the entire
Program Guide). If you configured the antenna for
TriSat mode, try switching to the other two
satellites and verify that the antenna receives
programming from all three satellites. For details
on how to switch to the other satellites, see
Section 3.4, "Switching Satellites in TriSat Mode" on
page 48.
5. When you have finished testing, shut down the
system.
