NOTE:
If the memory module is not installed properly, the computer may not boot.
No error message indicates this failure.

3 Tilt the module cover towards the front of the system. (Lift the memory
module cover but do not remove it.
4 Carefully lower the memory module cover and allow it to snap into place.
5 Replace the keyboard and hinge cover. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on
page 171 and "Replacing the Hinge Cover" on page 170.
6 Insert the battery into the battery bay, or connect the AC adapter to your
computer and an electrical outlet.
7 Turn on the computer.
As the computer boots, it detects the additional memory and automatically
updates the system configuration information.
Confirm the amount of memory installed in the computer:

• Windows
– Right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop, then click
Properties→ General.
• Windows Vista™
– Click the Windows Vista Start button
then click Properties.
