User Messages – Pairing Mode
BTUM status is shown in both BTUM LED and signal
strength indicator on vehicle display
5 Series,
6 Series,
7 Series
3 Series,
X3, X5, Z4
(except X5 with
MID display)
X5
(with MID display)
Please consult your vehicle's phone system manual
for help locating the signal strength indicator.
Once the BTUM is inserted into the eject box,
the signal strength does not display the phone's
signal strength but is instead used to indicate BTUM
status as described here.
Pairing Mode
LED on BTUM will be flashing and phone system
signal strength indicator will cycle from 1-4 bars as
indicated here:
