Pairing a phone to the BTUM.
In order for your compatible Bluetooth mobile phone to
function with the BTUM, an initial "pairing" process is
required. This allows the system and the phone to "meet"
each other and create a secure connection.
Pairing mode is automatically activated the first time
BTUM is inserted into the eject box. To confirm the
BTUM is in pairing mode, please refer to the chart titled
"User Messages – Pairing Mode" on page 14.
• If BTUM does not enter pairing or for subsequent
pairings, press Push Button for greater than 3 seconds
(refer to Pairing Mode chart)
From phone, search for Bluetooth devices
• For Bluetooth operation on your mobile phone, refer to
your phone's owner's manual
When prompted on handset, select device named
"BMW BTUM"
Enter passkey (passkey is located in lower left of BTUM
label as shown below)
