SZ 6104 DCS-LAN Switcher
• Connects two Central Units to enable room linking, redundancy
setup, or advanced configurations
• Automatically changes configuration according to the power
detected from the CUs
• Manageable over external control system or from the front-panel
Description
The SZ 6104 Switcher is used to connect together two central units for installa-
tions that share resources and for advanced system configurations. Two sepa-
rate systems are routed to the SZ 6104 Switcher, so when one CU is turned
off, the other will automatically begin operating the equipment as a single large
system. This is useful for collapsible rooms that may operate occasionally as one
large room, or for providing redundancy with a backup CU. For remote manage-
ment, the SZ 6104 connects to an external control system (AMX, Crestron).
Advantages to Using the SZ 6104
Partitioned Rooms
The Switcher simplifies the installation in a partitioned room. The space is
set up as a two standalone systems that connect together via the SZ 6104.
To use the entire space for a large event, simply turn off one CU and the
switcher automatically operates the entire system from a single CU.
Multiple Rooms
Multiple SZ 6104s are used to connect several rooms together, functioning as
a patch panel that can be controlled remotely.
Redundancy
For security, the switch enables the connection of a backup CU for a
redundant setup. If one CU is turned off or loses power, the switch instantly
selects the other device to maintain system operation.
Advanced Setup
The switcher is useful in many installations where a single resource is shared
with multiple CU configurations, such as a shared interpreter room.
