6. STARTING
THE ENGINE (REMOTE
CONTROL
TYPE)
FAST
CHOKElFAST
iDLE LEVER
3. When the engine is cold or the
ambient temperature is low, lift the
choke/fast idle lever up fully. This
will provide a rich fuel mixture.
When the engine is warm, it may be-
necessary to raise the choke/fast idle
lever slightly. Hold it in this position.
The choke/fast idle lever will not move
unless the control lever is in the N
(neutral) position.
ON
4. Hold the choke/fast idle lever in
position, turn the ignition key to the
START position and release the key
when the
engine starts. The starter
motor consumes a large amount of
current. Do not run it continuously
for more than 5 seconds at a time.
If the engine does not start within 5
seconds wait at least 10 seconds
before using the starter motor again.
lNoTlCEl Do noi turn the ignition
key to the start position while the
CHOKElFAST
IDLE LEVER
WEST
SITION
engine is running. This can damage
the starter motor and flywheel.
5. After starting the engine, return the
lever slowly to the position where
the engine does not stall and hold
the lever in the position.
The control lever will not move unless
the choke/fast idle lever is returned to
the lowest
position.
