UltraChro
High ink density, greater colour stability and longer archivability are all attributes of EPSON UltraChrome™
Ink, the most exciting advancement made in inkjet printing today. EPSON UltraChrome Ink is a seven
colour ink set that achieves new heights in colour reproduction applying advanced ink technology and
utilising the characteristics of pigment ink covered in clear resin coating.
Higher Ink Density with
Greater Media Flexibility
Compared to other pigment ink, new
technology EPSON UltraChrome Ink has
double the quantity of pigment particles
in the ink. This enables reproduction of
brilliant colour which is comparable to
general offset printing and silver halide
photography. Additionally, it enables
exceptional image quality on a greater
range of media including fine art papers,
canvas and other matte finished media,
including newsprint.

Excellent Colour Stability –
Making it Ideal for Digital Proofing
When EPSON UltraChrome Ink comes into contact with the substrate, the ink vehicle
quickly separates from the pigment particles as these are absorbed deep into the
media. As a result, colours become resistant to change and stabilise in a shorter time.
Superior short-term colour stability ideal for digital proofing has now been realised.
This enables high-precision digital proofing and a speeding-up of operations.
Wider Colour Gamut
UltraChrome Ink reproduces an extremely
wide colour gamut, rivalling that of
today's dye-based ink technologies. As a
result, high quality and consistent inkjet
contract quality proofs can be output on
demand; and at a fraction of the cost of
more traditional methods. Using the new
EPSON UltraChrome Ink set, the EPSON
STYLUS™ PRO 4000 is able to easily
reproduce the colour gamut of most
printing presses, silver halide
photography, while also matching
worldwide industry proofing standards.
Wide Colour Gamut
In comparison with Euro Scale, it can be seen that
EPSON UltraChrome Ink has a superior colour gamut.
