Before Setting the Oven Controls

Oven Vent Location
See illustration on left side for venting location of each oven. When the oven is
on, warm air is released through the vent. This venting is necessary for proper
air circulation in the oven and good baking results. Steam or moisture may
appear near the oven vent, this is normal. Do not block the oven vent.
Removing & Replacing Oven Racks
To remove an oven rack, pull the rack
forward until it stops. Lift up front of rack
and slide out.
To replace an oven rack, fit the rack onto
the guides on the oven walls. Tilt the front
of the rack upward and slide the rack back
into place.
Arranging Oven Racks & Supports
Always arrange oven racks when the oven is cool (Prior to operating the oven).

Broiling meats, chicken or fish
Baking
To bake on: 1 rack
Frozen pies, angel food cake, yeast, bread,
casseroles, small cuts of meat or poultry
Turkey, roast or ham
Note: Always use oven mitts when removing food.
Note: It is recommended not to introduce food into the oven until the preheat cycle
time is complete. During the preheat cycle, both the bake and the broil elements
are cycling which may cause unsatisfactory cooking performance or premature

Types of oven racks
Your range may be equipped with one or more of the oven racks styles shown;
• Flat handle oven rack (Figure 1).
• Offset oven rack (Figure 2).

The Flat Oven Handle Rack has an handle to facilitate the sliding of the rack
when large amount of foods weight on it (See Figure 1).
The Offset Oven Rack is used to maximize cooking space (See Figure 2). The
offset rack can be used in the lower rack position to roast large cuts of meat
and poultry.
