  • Page 5 Safety and warnings This appliance should not be sealed into the bench with silicone or glue. Doing so will make future servicing difficult. Fisher & Paykel will not be liable for costs associated with releasing such a product, nor for repairing damage that may be incurred in doing this. Packing elements (eg plastic bags, polystrene foam, staples, packing straps etc) and tools should not be left around during and after installation, especially if they are within easy reach of children, as these may cause serious injuries.

Extractor The room accommodating the gas cooktop must have hood to extract steam adequate natural draught to allow combustion of the gas. The flow of air must come directly from one or more air vents made in the outside walls with a free area of at least 100 cm (or refer to applicable local regulations).

Spread the seal around the edges, with the adhesive side facing down. Mount the supplied front and rear clamps (R) and screws (S) onto the cooktop, as shown (without tightening the screws).

Before installation, make sure that the local distribution conditions (gas type and pressure) and the adjustment of this appliance are compatible. The appliance adjustment conditions are given on the plate or the label. This appliance must be installed and serviced only by a suitably qualified, registered installer with technical knowledge of both gas installation and electricity.

  • Page 15 Installation instructions Connecting the appliance to NATURAL or TOWN GAS If not already fitted, fit the NATURAL/TOWN GAS hose holder on the inlet pipe, making sure that you place the sealing washer between them (as shown in Fig. 5a). Connect the appliance to the gas supply using a suitable rubber hose (internal diameter 13 mm). The hose must comply with the applicable local regulations and be of the correct construction for the type of gas being used.
  • Page 16 Installation instructions After connecting the appliance to the gas supply, make sure that you check the piping and connections using a soapy solution. The presence of bubbles indicated a leak. Tighten or replace connectons as appropriate, then recheck for leaks. Important! Do not use any naked flame to check for leaks.

    Installation instructions Electrical connection Important! This appliance must be earthed. Installation must be carried out according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Incorrect installation may cause harm and damage to people, animals or property, for which the manufacturer accepts no responsibility. If the installation requires alterations to the domestic wiring system, call a qualified electrician. The electrician should also check that the socket cable section is suitable for the power drawn by the appliance.
